Properly Prep for Formula Feeding

Properly Prep for Formula Feeding

Ok my vote- I do root for breastfeeding. There are a ray of benefits for mother and baby.

But! I know breastfeeding can be sub-optimal and isn’t for every mother.

Certain health conditions can affect whether or not she will be able to breastfeed and produce enough mature milk, even with all the extra support and resources.

So because breastfeeding isn’t 100% certain, I want to share with you how to properly prep and store formula feedings.

WHO (World Health Organization) came out with a quick easy guide to safely prep and store formula feed.

Here are a couple of highlights:

1. Always wash your hands!!! And have a clean surface to prep the formula +bottle

2. Any unused refrigerated feedings should be discarded after 24 hours

3. To re-warm formula, never use a microwave. Instead, heat the bottle in a warm container of water for approx 15 min
