Pelvic Floor Inspo

Pelvic Floor Inspo

Girlies! I went to a conference this past weekend that focused on the pelvic floor (Yes a Pearl). Before attending I was thinking to myself, ok seriously how come our pelvic floor muscles are such a mystery

Why aren’t they as prevalent as our biceps and triceps?!

Our pelvic floor balances stabilizes and supports our core, upper and lower body!! Hello I don’t know about you but I am all for stability, balance and support!!

The pelvic floor holds emotion, aligns our posture and coordinates our breath! So all good to give it a little attention ️

Here is one easy exercise I can give you that can help you become in-tune to your pelvic floor. All you need is your breath, focus and 60 seconds!

So breathe in for 5 seconds and exhale out for 5 seconds. As you inhale, feel your chest rise, belly expand and pelvic floor lengthen. Then as you exhale feel your chest and belly drawing in and pelvic floor contracting Imagine your pelvic floor like a butterfly folding in its wings as it contracts in

Try it for 5 breaths. Do you feel your pelvic floor move with your breath?

If you need more support with your pelvic floor DM me or talk to your OB/Gyne provider who can refer you to a Womens Health Physical Therapist- they can work magic! If you are in Chicago I know the clinic Vitality Women’s Physical Therapy & Wellness is wonderful too!!

And really, I recommend going to a women’s health physical therapist at least once in your lifespan whether you are pregnant, expecting babies, postpartum, in your 20s, 30s, 40s with no babies or even if you are in menopause️
