Do you Stay Healthy on the Weekends?

Do you Stay Healthy on the Weekends?

Do you like to stay healthy on the weekends?! Being active + eating well makes you feel lively!! How lovely!! And so it’s nice to have a plan in place before pregnancy, during pregnancy and after pregnancy on how you can maintain a healthy lifestyle. Dads you are included in this too.

A common health problem that can be preventable (I’m alll about prevention!) is high blood pressure. In pregnancy and postpartum high blood pressures can lead to Pre-Eclampsia which is v scary.

There are modified and non-modified risk factors to high blood pressures and so because I am talking to you about health, here are 5 ways to you can modify your lifestyle to keep your bp’s in good control.

  1. Exercise: So many places to exercise at now-a-days! And you know, outside is always an option plus with fresh air is always sweet.

  2. No smoking please!!

  3. Stress: How do you cope with it? Postpartum can be v stressful. Some tips: yoga (with me at cocoon care ;)) journal in your free?! time, take deep breaths and sigh it all out- this is one of my faves!

  4. Pick foods low in sodium: American Heart Association recommends eating less than 1000mg of sodium daily. Some fun spices to try instead of salt are turmeric, curry powder, dry mustard and nutmeg!

  5. If you are overweight it’s best to get this in control before you become pregnant so you are adding healthy weight when you do carry your babe in your womb and then in your arms <3
